Hey. I'm Ryan. People are cool most of the time. I like to think about you at night. Just saying.

Here’s to a New Year…

I’ve been doing some thinking over break. I have big plans for 2012… I’m going to better myself, better my relationships with others, and most importantly maintain a positive outlook on everything. I’ve done nothing but get down on myself this year… It must change for the next.

I’d like to do the following. We’ll see how far I get in 2012…

  1. Maintain a healthy diet.
  2. Gain control of my diabetes.
  3. Stick to a schedule.
  4. Keep things organized.
  5. SAVE money.
  6. Eliminate the clutter in my life.
  7. Workout, not to lose weight, but to have a toned body and feel great about myself.
  8. Not obsess about my love life. Something will happen when the time is right.
  9. Walk my dog more. She needs an outlet.
  10. Work on my hobbies. Explore photography through the intermediate film photography class I’m taking this semester. I’d also like to learn more about networking and the world or wireless communications.
  11. Earn great grades. Focus on school and force myself to complete assignments and not obsess about then until I can’t get them done.

I’m leaving the list at 11 for now. These are random thoughts that came to me while eating soup with my family. Such an odd time to think, but my brain works in mysterious ways.

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope this new year brings many great things your way. I sure hope some come mine!

I volunteered at the Salvation Army center around here a couple years ago, helping families pick out toys. It was really fun and I thought I was doing a good thing until two men came in. They were in poor shape, they wore a lot of layers and their jackets and pants had dirt and dust on them. I think they had been sleeping outside. They were coming in to get food from the kitchen, and one of the staff members took them to another room that wasn’t the kitchen. After a while, they were both escorted out of the building. I learned later that day they were kicked out because the staff speculated they were a gay couple and didn’t want to cater to those kind of people.
I can’t even look at the bellringers without being ashamed of them. They help a lot of people, but I don’t want to contribute to a group that still considers homosexuality to be condemnatory.
